ROLE IN THE PROJECT:
Her research expertise and interests focus on migration, mobilities.
Thais França is currently an integrated researcher at the Centre for Research and Studies in Sociology Institute of the Lisbon University Institute (Cies-Iscte, Iscte-IUL). She coordinates the project ‘Mapping out: Portugal on the European anti-immigrant movements map’ in partnership with PRIO, Norway and integrates European Commission expert group on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on gender equality in EU R&I (2022-2023). Her research expertise and interests focus on migration, mobilities, gender, social inequalities and post-colonial studies. She earned her PhD degree in Sociology in the Labor Relations, Social Inequalities and Unionism program at the Center for Social Studies, University of Coimbra in 2012. The outputs of her work have been presented at several academic conferences and published in international journals and book chapters. She organized three edited volumes and numerous scientific meetings.
