Norbert Cyrus

ROLE IN THE PROJECT:
Norbert Cyrus is researcher at the Institute for Intercultural and Migration Studies (IMIS) at University Osnabrück. He obtaind PhD degree 2008 from University Oldenburg with a thesis on Labour Migration and Social Work.
He was employed as research at the universities of Oldenburg, Bremen and Frankfurt (Oder) and participated in EU-funded research projects, among “Does Implementation Matter? Informal Administration Practices and Shifting Immigrant Strategies in Four Member States” (IAPASIS), “Undocumented Migration: Counting the Uncountable. Data and Trends Across Europe” (CLANDESTINO), and “Demand-Side Measures Against Trafficking (DemandAT). Recent research projects addressed the situation of mobile EU-citizens in need of support in Hamburg, and the exploration of state borders as complex entities. Research interests cover the analysis of irregular labour migration and policies adressing irregular migration at national, European and international level.
