Marina Nikolova

ROLE IN THE PROJECT:
Her research interests are in the areas of migrants’ integration and migration policies at a European and national level.
Marina Nikolova is a Research Associate of ELIAMEP. She has graduated from the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Media Communications of the Aristotle University (Thessaloniki) in 2004 and has been awarded an MA in Cultural management and policies from the Panteion University (Athens) in 2006. Marina expects to obtain her PhD in 2023. Since 2007 she has been involved as a researcher in the implementation, coordination, and monitoring of projects in the fields of migration and migration policies at EU and national levels, refugees’ integration and issues related to irregular migration. She has been the national coordinator for Greece of the European Web Site on Integration for four years, which is a project coordinated by the Migration Policy Group (MPG) in Brussels and financed by the European Commission. Marina has worked as a program coordinator for AMKE Melissa Network for Migrant Women in Greece from 2019 to 2021. Her research interests are in the areas of migrants’ integration and migration policies at a European and national level. She has been involved as researcher in the following relevant projects: BRiDGE – Bridge for Researchers in Danger Going to Europe, funded by Horizon 2020: “SwafS -26-2017: Science4Refugees-Support to highly skilled refugee scientists” (2018-2020); IRMA – Governing Irregular Migration: States, Actors and Intermediaries, funded by the Greek General Secretariat for Research & Technology (Action ARISTEIA) (2012-2015); “Treatment of Third Country Nationals at EU’s External Borders” commissioned by the FRA and coordinated by ICMPD (2011-2012); FRIM – Fundamental Rights Situation of Irregular Immigrants in the European Union conducted by FRA and ICMPD (2010).
