
Eralba Cela
ROLE IN THE PROJECT:
She has worked in several EU and national-funded projects on migrants’ integration
Eralba Cela holds a PhD in Demography and is associate Professor at the Department of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Milan where she teaches “Social Statistics and Population Dynamics”.
Her research has involved a range of themes situated within population studies, with a focus on ageing and migration from the perspective of both sending and receiving countries. She has worked as a researcher and consultant on several European and national projects on migrant integration and has extensive experience in the fields of integration, transnationalism, return migration, remittances, brain drain, international retirement migration, ageing migrants and family dynamics, active ageing, health, well-being, and refugees.
She is currently coordinating the research unit of Milan University for the National Research project “AVRAI – Assessing the Vulnerability of Refugees and Asylum seekers in Italy” financed by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (2023-2025).
