Ayesha Qaisrani

Her research interests include migration decision-making, climate-related migration, and diaspora engagement.
Ayesha Qaisrani is a Researcher with the International Centre for Migration Policy Development. She has a Masters in Migration Studies from the University of Oxford and a Masters in Economics from the National University of Science and Technology, Pakistan. She has over six years of professional experience in developing and implementing quantitative and qualitative research projects, and conducting policy analyses in the field of migration. Her research interests include migration decision-making, climate-related migration, and diaspora engagement. Recently, she has concluded the PARIM project (Awareness raising and information campaigns on the risks of irregular migration in Pakistan) in which she focused on the drivers of irregular migration and the decision-making process of potential irregular migrants, and is currently involved in several multi-country research projects implemented by ICMPD. Prior to this role, she has worked with the Oxford Department of International Development (ODID), the Federal Ministry of Human Rights, Pakistan, and the Sustainable Development Policy Institute, Islamabad. She has also been part of the H2020 project MIGNEX as the lead researcher for the National Policy Review of Pakistan.
