Albert Kraler

ROLE IN THE PROJECT:
In addition to acting as the overall coordinator of the MIrreM project, Albert also leads WP1 (Foundations: Theories, concepts, categories and indicators) and WP7 (Regularisation of irregular immigrants)
Albert Kraler is the coordinator of the MIrreM project and Assistant Professor in Migration Studies at the Department for Migration and Globalisation at University for Continuing Education Krems (Austria). He holds a PhD in Political Sscience from the University of Vienna and a joint degree in Political Science and African Studies from the same university. Before joining Danube University Krems in 2018, he was a senior researcher at the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) in Vienna, working in numerous projects , including two of MIrreM’s predecessor projects, the Clandestino and the REGINE studies. Albert’s research interests include global migration and asylum governance, as well as policy making, research – policy relations in the field of migration and asylum, and effects of migration policies on migrants themselves.
